Birdbath 1,2013

Client: Exhibited at Gallery 34 in Yea, May 2013

I was visiting a friend’s home when I spied a beautiful cast iron tripod in her garden. She explained that it was an antique copper stand which would have been placed above a fire on wash day to support a copper in which water would be boiled for washing clothes. I could see the potential of combining such a metal stand with the glossiness of new glass. I sourced three of the tripods and transformed them into birdbaths. Two were shown at my show in Gallery 34 in Yea. I was delighted that they were used as wishing wells at the show.
